Our First Father's Day

As previously mentioned, this was our 1st Father's Day without Dad. Obviously, we thought about him constantly, but for the most part, it pretty much came and went. Mom took us 3 sons out to dinner Saturday night, and that was pretty good. We didn't do much of anything Sunday, just went shopping for a generator for the house in the event of a power outage, and had lunch.
People seem to be amazed that we appear to be doing so well since Dad left us. We definitely miss him all the time, but we know he's in a better place, he's not suffering anymore, and we know he's watching over us and wouldn't want us to stop living our lives.
So, we'll do the best we can, Dad.

Father's Day

This will be my first Father's Day without my Dad, who passed away on May 28th. I'm not sure how it's gonna be, probably pretty damn sad. Mom's gonna take the four sons out to dinner next Saturday night, the day before Father's Day.
I still stay close to Dad because I started wearing his Marine Corps watch. Yes, he's in my heart forever, but when I look down at my wrist, it's like he's telling me what time it is. So, he'll always be around. But, it's still strange sitting around the house by myself before I go to work in the afternoon.
I want to thank my friends, Tina and Staci, for starting threads on the Falcons' and Racing Stalkers message boards, respectively, to break the news to fellow posters, because I didn't feel like it at the time. Everyone's been great. I wish I could hug every one of them.
Dad, I know you're up there watching. Hope I'm making you proud!
