End of year updates

First of all, we're getting through our first Christmas without Dad about as well as can be expected. More than anything, we're just trying not to think about it. But, I think we'll be fine.
Next, the party house: it doesn't look like it's gonna happen by New Year's Eve. The weather's been too crazy around here lately. Now we're shooting for Jan. 27, Mom's birthday. We'll see.
Now, the woman I may be re-connecting with: I sent her a Christmas card; she sent me one back and told me to keep in touch. Still haven't seen her or actually talked to her, but I think that's coming. Not getting my hopes up too high, but I'm optimistic.
Well, as we enter the New Year, that's where things stand.

2006

Well, another year has come and gone in a hurry. Not a whole lot to speak of.
Unfortunately, 2006 will be remembered as the year my Dad passed away. It's been 6 months, and it's still a little strange not having him around the house. But, he's in a lot better place than we are, and he's not suffering anymore.
2006 was the also the year that we went back to Las Vegas. I had a blast! Mom had fun too, but I think she was ready to get it over with, because it was the first trip without Dad. And, it was great to see Joann from Cleveland again! Hopefully, we'll go back out there in 3 or 4 years.
Other than that........well, I'm another year older (36), and made it another year on the job (15).
No telling what 2007 will bring!
